
As can be seen in these photos, these cranberry pickers were the tools of the
trade
for the pickers working in the bogs. The picker would run the scoop along the
bottom
of the bog and then rock the scoop upwards thereby picking the cranberries off
the vines.
When the scoop was full, they would empty them into baskets or measures. These
scoops
were treasured and well kept by the pickers, as it represented their source
of income.
